Acupuncture is an ancient technique that has been practiced for more than 3,000 years in China. Acupuncture is a holistic system of traditional Asian medicine that is based on natural laws that govern the movement of vital life-giving air both in nature and in the body. This system views health as a constantly changing flow of blood and oxygen. When blood flow and oxygen is disrupted whether due to physical trauma, emotions, stress, medications or poor diet; pain or illness can result.

How acupuncture works:

A licensed practitioner gently inserts ultra-fine needles into specific points along the body to help remove blockages bringing blood flow, oxygen and circulation to the area and restoring balance within the body. Because holistic health is based on the interconnectedness between the physical and the emotional body, any lack of balance between the two can result in illness. Holistic Health upholds the theory that all aspects of the mind, body and spirit need to be in balance; every person and their experience is uniquely different and therefore requires the specific and individualized treatment that acupuncture can provide.

What conditions can be treated by acupuncture?

Acupuncture is effective in treating many acute and chronic health problems such as: headache, arthritis, various body pains, TMJ, edema, insomnia, grief, depression, anxiety, allergies, asthma, common cold& flu, fatigue, digestive problems, skin conditions, addictions, etc.

Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture needles are ultra-fine and are nearly painless upon insertion. You may feel some tingling, cramping or electric sensations either around the needle or moving through the body. Patients often find acupuncture very relaxing.
